E. Caracas Street Closure

On Monday, April 3rd, E. Caracas St. between N. Nebraska Ave. and N. 9th St will be closed to allow the installation of storm water drainage pipes in the area. E. Caracas St. will be closed for up to three months to thru traffic. Local residents and businesses will continue to have access as needed.

Upcoming Milling and Paving Operations
Milling and paving on N. Miami Avenue and Osceola Place will occur tomorrow, March 31, 2023.
Milling and paving on W. Crest Avenue will occur on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3-5, 2023.
Paving on N. Cherokee Avenue between E. Clifton Street and E. Henry Avenue will occur on Tuesday through Thursday, April 4-6, 2023.
Paving on E. Caracas Street between I-275 and Nebraska Avenue will occur Thursday & Friday, April 6 & 7, 2023.

Upcoming Nebraska Avenue Closure

Nebraska Avenue will be closed for six to eight weeks at E. Caracas Street for the installation of new drinking water and flood relief improvements. During this closure northbound and southbound traffic on N. Nebraska Avenue will be detoured to N. Florida Avenue via Hillsborough Avenue and E. Osborne Avenue (See Traffic Advisory Map below). Eastbound and westbound Hillsborough Avenue traffic turning to travel south on N. Nebraska Avenue past E. Caracas Street will be detoured to N. Florida Avenue and E. Osborne Avenue. Eastbound and westbound traffic on E. Osborne Avenue turning to travel north on N. Nebraska Avenue past E. Caracas Street will be detoured west on E. Osborne Avenue to N. Florida Avenue and north to Hillsborough Avenue. WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION The contractor will begin the installation of a new City watermain and 72” stormwater pipe across N. Nebraska Avenue. The new stormwater pipe will help relieve future flooding in the Southeast Seminole Heights neighborhood. All businesses on N. Nebraska Avenue will be open and access to businesses and residences will be maintained during the road closure. • The 24-Hour Coin Laundry will be accessible off E. Caracas Street • Moates Florist will be accessible via E. Osborne Avenue and N. Nebraska Avenue • AW Windhorst will be accessible via E. Osborne Avenue and N. Nebraska Avenue • Dignity Memorial will be accessible off Hillsborough Avenue and N. Nebraska Avenue or from east of E. Caracas Street • TFK African Food will be available via Hillsborough Avenue and N. Nebraska Avenue All businesses north of Wilder Avenue will be accessible via Hillsborough Avenue and all businesses south of Ellicott Street will be available via E. Osborne Avenue. The contractor’s work hours are between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; however, the road closure and detour will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
