West Crest Avenue Restoration Update
Curb has been installed on the north side of the street along the 200 block of West Crest Avenue. Crews are working to install curb on the south side of the street Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, with the remaining curb on the 100 block’s north side occurring Wednesday through Friday this week. Asphalt installation could begin as early as Monday, Jan. 30.
Residents received door hangers last week notifying them of driveways being inaccessible beginning today; a second door hanger will be delivered tomorrow. Driveways will be affected for two to three days at a time while work is directly in front of homes. During this time, residents are asked to park elsewhere between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. During asphalt installation, no cars may park on the street.
If you have mobility issues and need assistance accessing your home during the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), a golf cart is available to transport you. Please ask a crew member to put you in touch with a foreman in the field for assistance. If you do not see a crew member, you may call the project hotline at 813-580-5313.
Crews have installed three of the four ADA-accessible sidewalk ramps at the intersection of West Crest and Highland Avenue. The remaining ramp should be complete by end of March, as the adjacent curb inlet has not yet been delivered.
All sanitary sewer inspections along the 100-200 blocks of Crest have been completed, and no additional adjustments are needed. After two adjustments on the 300 block are completed, the curb and asphalt surrounding those will be repaired. Final asphalt will be installed along all three blocks of West Crest Avenue at the same time, tentatively early May.
