Upcoming Water Shutoff – Monday, April 24, 2023

Notice to Residents Please be advised that on Monday, April 24, at 8 a.m., your water service will be interrupted for eight hours. The water service shutoff is for residents between Hillsborough Avenue to Wilder Avenue and Florida Avenue to Central Avenue. Please see the affected service area map below. REASON FOR THE SHUTOFF The Department of Health has given clearance to connect the new water main into the City’s existing mains along Frierson Avenue. In order to complete these connections, the City will need to shut down water pressure to the entire neighborhood. There are a number of new connections to older pipes which may also require repair. WHAT TIME WILL MY WATER BE SHUT OFF? The water shutoff operation is being coordinated with the City of Tampa and the shutoff time will vary for each residential area. One area might be without service at 8 a.m. while another area might be without service at 10 a.m. Water service restoration times for residential areas will vary similarly. The entire operation is expected to take 6-8 hours, but you may be without water for only a couple hours. WILL WE HAVE TO BOIL WATER ONCE WATER SERVICE IS RESTORED? If a boil water alert is necessary, it will come directly from the City of Tampa. If the alerts are needed, the City will provide a notice to affected residents. There is no way to determine ahead of time if a boil water alert will be necessary.
