REMINDER: Florida Avenue Closed Nightly Dec. 6-8
North Florida Avenue will be closed to thru traffic between East Hillsborough and East Osborne avenues from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily Tuesday Dec 6, Wednesday, Dec. 7, and Thursday, Dec. 8, for stormwater work on Florida near East Frierson.
Beginning tomorrow, North Florida Avenue will be closed nightly to thru traffic between East Hillsborough and East Osborne avenues for stormwater work on Florida near East Frierson. Florida Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night Tuesday Dec 6, Wednesday, Dec. 7, and Thursday, Dec. 8.
Northbound traffic on Florida Avenue will be detoured at Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to Nebraska Avenue. Southbound thru traffic on North Florida Avenue will be detoured at East Hillsborough Avenue to Nebraska Avenue.
During this work, heavy equipment will travel to and from the work site on Florida Avenue to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 5103 North Central Avenue to access stored materials. Residents near St. Paul’s and along Wilder Avenue may hear heavy equipment in the area periodically between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Businesses along Florida Avenue that are open after 8 p.m. and before 5 a.m. are still accessible. Velvet Gypsy and Chocolate Pi are accessible via Hillsborough to Florida; Velvet Gypsy is also accessible via West Crest Avenue.
