Florida Ave. to Re-open by 5 p.m. Oct. 7

Despite losing several days to Hurricane Ian, crews still expect to re-open Florida Avenue at West Crest by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. This restoration is partial with a single layer of asphalt as there are still some outstanding decisions to be made by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) regarding this work. Once those decisions are made by FDOT, there will likely be some additional work that needs to be done. If that is the case, crews will schedule as much work as possible for nighttime—after evening rush-hour and before morning rush-hour—in order to minimize impacts to businesses, commuters and residents. However, asphalt and concrete work will likely be done during the day, under single lane closures, due to availability.
