Cherokee Avenue Closed to Thru Traffic

Cherokee Avenue between Henry and Idlewild avenues will be closed to thru traffic for approximately five to six weeks while crews rebuild the road. During this work, all cars should be off the street between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Residents will receive a blue door hanger the day before work will be in front of their homes, alerting them to park elsewhere.

Cherokee Avenue between Henry Avenue and Clifton Street is being replaced with asphalt. Permeable pavers are being installed on Cherokee Avenue between Clifton and Idlewild. During this work, residents may not be able to access their driveway or the roadway in front of their house during business hours. The plan is to have access restored (even if temporary) by the end of every shift.

If you have mobility issues and need assistance accessing your home during the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), a golf cart is available to transport you. Please ask a crew member to put you in touch with a foreman in the field for assistance. If you do not see a crew member, you may call the project hotline at 813-580-5313.
