Caracas Update

On Monday, the contractor will start building road and prepping for curb starting at I-275 and working towards Central. The contractor will be finished with the reinstallation of 72-inch storm pipe on Caracas by the end of March. They will then go north and reinstall the first 32 feet of 72-inch storm pipe at the Central and Caracas intersection. Caracas should be fully restored by the end of April or early May. There is a six-inch watermain that needs to be directionally drilled under I-275 in greenspace at the end of Caracas. The contractor is still working with FDOT and their contractor to obtain all the necessary information so they can finalize plans and revise their FDOT permit for this work. FDOT still requires occasional access to the site from the end of Caracas. Once access is no longer needed, the fence and guardrail at the end of the road will be replaced.
