Construction Update for Central and West Crest Avenues; Thanksgiving Work Schedule/in Alerts
Crews will begin excavation work on West Crest Avenue at North River Boulevard today or tomorrow. Work is anticipated to progress eastward on West Crest Avenue next week.
In preparation for water main relocation on Caracas Street, the northbound lane on Central Avenue will be closed at Caracas beginning today. Vehicles will no longer be able to travel north on Central to Wilder Avenue.
No construction work will take place from Nov. 25 through Nov. 28, 2021, as David Nelson Construction and its employees celebrate Thanksgiving with their families and friends. Full construction will resume Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.

Construction on Caracas Street on Monday, Nov. 22/in Alerts
Beginning Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, construction crews will be working on Caracas Street from Central Avenue to I-275. They are relocating a water main in preparation for excavating a micro-tunnel shaft under the Interstate beginning in December.
Northbound Central from Osborne to Hillsborough Closed Through August 2022/in Alerts
Beginning Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, northbound Central Avenue will be closed from Osborne to Hillsborough avenues. Central Avenue will be southbound only between Hillsborough and Osborne avenues until August 2022 as crews relocate a water main, install a new 72-inch stormwater pipe and box culvert, and make transportation improvements on Central Avenue.
Northbound traffic on Central Avenue will be detoured at East Osborne Avenue to Florida Avenue and Nebraska Avenue.
